Persona Trilogy

The Vision

This trilogy is a concept that resembles the music I play when dj-ing at venues. It’s about creating music to make you think and feel,
Music that causes the mind, body and soul to stir. It has to have emotion and depth whilst always evolving in an almost organic way.
Each cd represents the many different sounds, styles, vibes and tempo’s of my Persona and also describes my dj journey so far.

Gradual - Part 1

The Music
Expect a variety of worldwide beats incorporating, Nu Jazz, Funk, Nu Soul, Punk and Disco. As the cd slowly builds up pace we
carry on through the genres, just touching some Deep House, Big Sounding Hip Hop and Experimental Percussive Madness, as we
get ready to enter the Rugged phrase.

The Journey
Gradual is representing Persona’s steady path, which has evolved and developed at its own pace. Knowing when to give yourself
a push and when to nurture your pursuit. It’s been a learning stage, trying different things, finding a sense of direction.
The same can be said for the Music on the CD and in any warm up stage of any dj set I play. Using my senses to pick up the vibe
but also knowing that this is the time to create a vibe for people to enjoy!

Rugged - Part 2

The Music
This cd starts with a beautiful melodic vocal track and then smartly switches to a Broken Beat Jazzy number.
Continuing to develop on a somewhat bumpy ride, through a rough and ready Blue’s breaks record, a tough Disco Male Vocal
House tune and a techno remix of Lamb, the tempo and depth is maintained and increased as various emotions are expressed
through Funked up Break Beat, Dub Style Beats, Indie Electro, Acid, Electro Disco and Drum N Bass.

The Journey
Rugged is representing Persona’s highs and lows, its successes and its failures. The frustrations that I have had to deal with and
the episodes I still face on this journey. Rugged is the heart and desire coming through me. It’s a way of letting go, releasing
tension and allowing creativity to sparkle. This then provides the excitement and energy that’s required to advance.
Again the same application can be applied to the Music. Rugged is at the heart of the vibe almost like a storm brewing before
lightening strikes.

Flowing - Part 3

The Music
This cd has a very organic feel to it with its many atmospheric layers. Expect a crisp sounding deep house mix with alternating
break beat rhythms as the cd ebbs and flows into a more full on electronic club mix. Listen to the inspiring soulful vocals, lush keys,
deep bass and almost classical style effects as various elements of music genres are crammed into the mix. Finishing off with a
lovely violin used on the last track to give you that great sense of satisfaction and feeling.

The Journey
Flowing represents my creativity, imagination and innovation. Along the path there have been many routes I could have taken but
I have taken my own journey and,stuck to the task ahead. The fluidity has allowed for the creativity to develop and transform me to
where I am now. Flowing is the satisfaction I have got out of Dj-ing and the depth and levels it can reach. Apply this to the Music
and flowing would be the crashing of the beats like the waves crashing in the sea, Before almost leveling off all the different sounds
and styles to give you that end of night feeling at a club, where you have had a great night. By now you have soaked up the
atmosphere, the music and feel in a state of bliss.
